“Lamb So Good I Briefly Considered Converting to Shepherdism”
Look, I’ve eaten lamb before. Roast dinners, Sunday specials, that sort of thing. But this leg? This wasn’t just lamb — this was a spiritual experience wrapped in crispy fat.
The Two Butchers sorted me out with a leg that looked like it came straight from Mount Olympus. Bone-in, beautifully marbled, and with a smell so pure I swear my smoke alarm bowed in respect rather than screaming like it usually does.
I roasted it low and slow with garlic, rosemary, and hope — and when it came out, it was so tender I didn’t even need a carving knife. I just stared at it, and it fell apart from fear and admiration.
My guests — actual adults with functioning palates — went full caveman. One used bread as a shovel. Someone said it was “better than the lamb we had in Greece,” and I believed them even though they’ve never been to Greece.
Honestly, if you don’t get this leg of lamb, cook it properly, and temporarily achieve minor local fame, that’s on you.
Massive shout out to The Two Butchers — you’ve turned what my nan calls “a proper Sunday roast” into a Michelin-starred mutton miracle. (I know it’s Lamb but the alliteration didn’t work!)
